If you go to www.freerice.com, you can challenge your vocabulary skills while also contributing grains of rice to impoverished people through the United Nations World Food Program. For each word you define correctly (multiple choice), 10 grains of rice appear in your virtual bowl.
Yes, it is lovely to feel one is doing something to end world hunger while sitting in front of a computer.
But it is *crazy fun* to watch your word level go up or down as you get words correct (or not!). The highest level one can attain is 50, though "they" say: "it is rare for people to get above level 48." 45 was my highest level in the short time I played and I had to force myself to quit.
